Martin Scorsese will lead a host of stars at the 13th Annual Marrakech International Fim Festival, which begins tomorrow and runs until December 7. This year's festival supports films from around the world, including the US, India, Scandinavia and Morocco. Scorsese will lead a panel of judges that includes Patricia Clarkson, Marion Cotillard, Fatih Akin, Amat Escalante, Golshifteh Farahani, Anurag Kashyap, Narjiss Nejjar, Park Chan-wook and Paolo Sorrentino. Sharon Stone and Juliette Binoche will receive Lifetime Achievement awards in two separate ceremonies. The opening film is the Bollywood romance drama Ram-Leela, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. – AP
Dhoom 3 goes over the top with big-budget song
The title track of the forthcoming action drama Dhoom 3 is making headlines even though it's not out yet. The high-energy number was reportedly made on a budget of five crore rupees (Dh2.9 million) and features Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and a troupe of 200 dancers on lavish sets. A source said that the song "features 200 professional gymnasts who were specially flown in from the US". Dhoom 3 is the third instalment of the highly successful franchise and also stars Abhishek Bachchan. It is out in the UAE on December 19. – AP
Jolie hasn’t bought an island for Pitt
Squashing rumours that Angelina Jolie has bought a "heart-shaped island" for Brad Pitt, Donna Massaro, the daughter of the property owners in question, said: "I don't have any idea where that came from. The family threw it out there to see if anyone was interested and so far no potential buyers have come forward." Massaro's parents had put the island up for sale about four months ago. The island is located approximately 80 kilometres north of Manhattan, New York, and sits in the middle of Lake Mahopac in Putnam County. – IANS
