Covid-19 restrictions in Ras Al Khaimah have been extended until August 31.
Under the rules, the capacity of public beaches and parks is limited to 70 per cent. Shopping malls must admit no more than 60 per cent of their total allowance.
Restaurants and cafes must keep tables two metres apart, with a maximum of four customers at each table, unless they are members of the same family.
Social distancing of two metres must also be observed, and masks remain mandatory in all public places.
Attendance at all public events, exhibitions and activities is restricted to those who have been vaccinated or are taking part in clinical trials for a vaccine.
Proof of a negative PCR test result, obtained within 48 hours before the event, is also required.
Family gatherings and events such as weddings are limited to 10 people. No more than 20 people are allowed to attend a funeral.
Public transport, cinemas, events and activities, fitness centres and gyms, as well as pools and private beaches at hotels can admit no more than 50 per cent of their capacity.
Hotels can continue to operate at 100 per cent capacity.
Elsewhere in the UAE, Abu Dhabi has updated its quarantine requirements.
Vaccinated travellers flying into Abu Dhabi from countries not on its green list will now go into quarantine for seven days instead of five, the authorities said on Sunday.
Unvaccinated passengers from countries not on the green list will have to go into quarantine for 12 days, instead of 10.
Arrivals from green-list countries do not need to quarantine.
The capital updated its travel procedures for citizens and residents returning from abroad, effective from Monday, July 5.

Strait of Hormuz
Fujairah is a crucial hub for fuel storage and is just outside the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route linking Middle East oil producers to markets in Asia, Europe, North America and beyond.
The strait is 33 km wide at its narrowest point, but the shipping lane is just three km wide in either direction. Almost a fifth of oil consumed across the world passes through the strait.
Iran has repeatedly threatened to close the strait, a move that would risk inviting geopolitical and economic turmoil.
Last month, Iran issued a new warning that it would block the strait, if it was prevented from using the waterway following a US decision to end exemptions from sanctions for major Iranian oil importers.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

The more serious side of specialty coffee
While the taste of beans and freshness of roast is paramount to the specialty coffee scene, so is sustainability and workers’ rights.
The bulk of genuine specialty coffee companies aim to improve on these elements in every stage of production via direct relationships with farmers. For instance, Mokha 1450 on Al Wasl Road strives to work predominantly with women-owned and -operated coffee organisations, including female farmers in the Sabree mountains of Yemen.
Because, as the boutique’s owner, Garfield Kerr, points out: “women represent over 90 per cent of the coffee value chain, but are woefully underrepresented in less than 10 per cent of ownership and management throughout the global coffee industry.”
One of the UAE’s largest suppliers of green (meaning not-yet-roasted) beans, Raw Coffee, is a founding member of the Partnership of Gender Equity, which aims to empower female coffee farmers and harvesters.
