Dubai-born racer Ed Jones finished 13th in the Indianapolis 500 as Simon Pagenaud won the race.
Jones, who had qualified sixth for Sunday's race, completed all 200 laps of the event in the United States, but he was 7.5 seconds off the lead at the end and he admitted poor set-up and meant he was never really in contention.
The Ed Carpenter Racing driver told reporters: "We got our set-up wrong for the start and restarts. That’s when all the passes were made, and by the time I got the momentum going, I’d lost places and it was difficult to regain the lost ground.
“It’s disappointing. I think all three cars had similar problems, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.”
The 24 year old is in his third full season in the Indycar series, having won the 2016 Indy Light championship.
He finished third in his debut race at the Indy 500 in 2017.
Pagenaud's victory, which came ahead of Alexander Rossi, was his first Indy 500 win and puts him top of the Indycar standings by one point from Josef Newgarden.
