SHARJAH // Police evacuated Mega Mall on Monday night after being tipped off about a suspicious object.
The police operations centre received a call at 10.40pm about a suspicious object left in the mall and dispatched units to the scene who secured the area.
In a statement, Sharjah Police said that the mall was evacuated of shoppers and precautionary measures were taken to ensure their safety.
Officers searched the mall before declaring the area safe.
Sharjah police urged residents to report any suspicious objects using the 999 hotline for emergencies and 901 for non-emergencies.
